Taking Care of the Soldiers by Providing Opportunities – Purpose, Motivation, and Direction

As leaders we provide Soldier purpose, motivation, and direction. We should also be providing Soldiers challenges and opportunities that will grow them both technically and tactically.  As individuals we are not all provided the same opportunities to excel.  Therefore it is important that we make a strong effort to provide opportunity to all of our Soldiers.  Sometimes we need to speak with them about growing where they are planted.  Sometimes, they are put in a position they don’t want or feel it will hurt their career.  Explain that they need to do their best in the job they have and the rest will take care of itself because you will be (OR BETTER BE) planning their career develop in your unit or working to help them grow into another position in a sister unit. Provide Opportunity, Opportunity, and Opportunity, did I say Opportunity?  🙂
